Peter Piller

Poster to promote a Masterclass about the archival work of Peter Piller, given by the artist himself at the Fine Arts Academy, Lisbon.
The poster re-enacts the artist’s body of work which is based on collected images he finds in the filling cabinets of regional newspaper and archives. Freed from their original purpose and context, the artist rearranges and classifies these images providing them with unexpected new meanings. What at a first glance is perceived as a cliché, or as a monotonous image, proves to have an unexpected and witty new narrative that exposes the absurdity of everyday life.
Developed while interning at Flatland Design.
